PART 1 – PARTS OF THE CAR (partes do carro)
These are the main parts of the car you need to know to understand the basic driving instructions.
STEERING WHEEL – volante
HORN – buzina
MIRRORS – espelhos retrovisores
WHEELS – rodas
WINDSHIELD – pára-brisa
WINDSHIELD WIPERS – limpador de pára-brisa
TURN (RIGHT / LEFT) SIGNAL – dar seta (direita ; esquerda)
HAZARD LIGHTS – pisca-alerta
BRAKE PEDAL – pedal de freio
GAS PEDAL / ACCELERATOR – acelerador
HAND BRAKE – freio de mão
CLUTCH – embreagem

Before the driving test starts, the instructor usually asks the driver to check some car parts.
CHECK: signals, mirrors, lights, hazard lights and horn.
VERIFICAR: setas, espelhos, faróis, pisca-alerta e buzina.
During the classes, the instructor is going to give the driver some instructions like these:
CHECK BLIND SPOTS – verifique o ponto cego, olhe para todos os lados
PUSH THE BREAKS – pise no freio
STOP COMPLETELY – pare completamente
HONK THE HORN – buzine
PARK THE CAR – estacione o carro
PULL OVER – encoste o carro
PULL THE HAND BRAKE – puxe o freio de mão
TURN ON THE CAR – ligue o carro
TURN OFF THE CAR – desligue o carro
CHECK SIGNALS – verifique as setas
MAKE A RIGHT / TURN RIGHT – vire à direita

Here are the most common manouvers you must know for the driving test:

TRAFFIC LIGHT – semáforo
STOP SIGN – placa de pare
